The memorial to 1956 on the main square of the Old Village was inaugurated on the 50th anniversary of the 1956 revolution and freedom struggle, and was completed in part from public donations and partly at the initiative of Telki Civil Association.
The memorial classified as one of Telki’s sights when lit up in the evenings provides a worthy location for the traditional, local torchlight commemorations on 23 October each year.
