Plague Chapel
The plague left deep traces in the history of Zsámbék.
The chapel built in Baroque style was erected by the Zichy family to commemorate the many victims of the epidemic in 1740. The building was renovated outside at the beginning of the 90s and the bare walls can be seen inside.
The Catholic community holds an annual vigil during Lent in the small, but intimate chapel, and is used occasionally at other times.
When visiting the Plague Chapel near the Angyal-árok trench, it is also worth making a trip to the Calvary Hill and Star Forest.
